Former PDGN President and current Vice-President Guy Barnett MP has been appointed Health Minister in the Tasmanian government.
Guy was described in his local newspaper as a ‘Connoisseur of jelly beans’ who champions diabetes. “Newly appointed Health Minister, Guy Barnett, received a shock diagnosis more than two decades ago – and it’s an experience he says will shape his approach to the job.”
PDGN wishes Guy the best of luck in his new challenge, one that his past as an Ambassador for Diabetes Australia, and a champion fundraiser through his pollie pedal involvement raising awareness and funds for diabetes, he is well equipped to meet.
